Subasta LADLE & DOE 2026

April 20, 2026

For the fifth time, the Mexican design and interior studio Daniel Orozco Estudio will organize its annual auction in benefit of the foundation Los Amigos de la Esquina A.C.

As it has every year since 2022, within the framework of Mexico City’s Art Week, this event aims to promote art, design, and philanthropy. Daniel Orozco Estudio donates an emblematic piece from its 2025 collection to be intervened by various contemporary artists. In this way, unique and unrepeatable pieces are created—art objects that not only stand out for their design but also serve a charitable purpose.

The Intervention

For the 2026 edition, the artists who participated in intervening the 14 pieces were:

  • Estudio Alta Habitat @estudio.altahabitat
  • Chris Backhoff @backhoff
  • Aura Carpio @aura_carpio
  • Mariana Padilla Studio @marianapadillastudio
  • Tatiana Camacho @_tatianacamacho
  • Margarita Velázquez Studio @margaritavelazquez.studio
  • Cara Larga @caralarga_mx
  • Axoque Estudio @axoquestudio
  • Neaga @neaga
  • Andrés Saavedra @andressaavedramx
  • Ricardo Díaz Leal @rdiazlealarte
  • Javiera Dafonseca Studio @javiera_dafonsecastudio
  • Isabella Russos @isabellarussos
  • Eliana Portilla @elianaportilla.mx

The sculpture, crafted from solid wood, is formed by stacking four pyramid-style geometric shapes. Each piece received a different treatment, with artists expressing their individual styles, guided by their creativity and artistic signature.

The Event

The 2026 LADLE x DOE auction will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the designer’s showroom, located at General Pedro Antonio de los Santos 2, in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood.

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the LADLE foundation (Los Amigos de la Esquina A.C.). This nonprofit organization was created to provide positive tools for the growth and development of children in communities across the Yucatán Peninsula. LADLE promotes the holistic development of children through various workshops and classes that help them build future skills, explore their creativity, and develop environmental awareness.
